Disability Philanthropy in Australia - The case of the missing foundation(s)

The current state of disability philanthropy in Australia is fragmented and small. Disability advocates have spent decades working to shift the conversation away from disability ‘types’ towards the barriers to inclusion. However, a study commissioned by The Achieve Foundation has found disability philanthropy remains highly specialised without any direct focus on inclusion.

In this short report, we present an overview of QUT’s findings to stimulate an informed dialogue about strengthening philanthropy’s contribution to improving the wellbeing of people with disability in Australia.
